Foto-initiator 819 heeft een vergelijkbare moleculaire structuur als TPO, en beide behoren tot het acylfosfineoxide splitsingstype vrije radicaal foto-initiator. De fotolyseproducten zijn: twee trimethylbenzoyl groepen en één fenylfosfonyl vrij radicaal, beide zijn vrije radicalen met hoge initiatieactiviteit, dus de foto-initiator activiteit is hoger dan die van TPO.
