Introduction:

 

White crystals, turn dark when exposed to air and light. Strong unpleasant odor at high concentrations, orange and jasmine-like fragrance after high dilution (concentration < 0.1%). Melting point 52-53℃, boiling point 253-254℃. 

 

Uses:

 

1. Widely used in floral fragrances such as jasmine, lilac, orange blossom, gardenia, honeysuckle, lotus, narcissus, ylang-ylang, grass orchid, and white orchid. It is also often used with methyl indole to prepare artificial civet incense. A very small amount can be used in flavors such as chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, bitter orange, coffee, nuts, cheese, grapes, and fruity compound.
2. Used as a raw material for spices, dyes, amino acids, and pesticides.
3. It is a raw material for spices, medicines, and plant growth hormones.
