White to light yellow powdery, waxy, or blocky substance with a slight fat odor. Relative density of 0.98-1.0, melting point of 51 ℃. It can be dispersed in hot water and is miscible with oils and general organic solvents. The HLB value is 4.7.

 

Uses:

 

Used as emulsifier and stabilizer in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, pesticide, coating, and plastic industries, and as anti-static agent and soft oiling agent in the textile industry.
