Introduction:

Silane coupling agent is also known as silane treatment agent; primer. The general formula is Y(CH2)nSiX3. It is an organic silicon monomer with two or more different reactive groups in the molecule. It can chemically bond (couple) with organic and inorganic materials to increase the adhesion of the two materials. In the general formula, n is an integer from 0 to 3; X is a hydrolyzable group, such as chlorine,  ethoxy, acetoxy, etc., which is easily hydrolyzed to form silanol, which can react with inorganic substances to combine; Y is an organic functional group, such as vinyl, amino, epoxy, methacryloxy, mercapto, etc., which can react with organic substances to combine.

Uses:

1. It has a thiol functional group and has special effects as a metal surface rust inhibitor. It can be used to treat metal surfaces such as gold, silver, and copper to improve their corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and improve their bonding properties to polymer materials.
