Textile Carrier Benzyl Benzoate CAS 120-51-4 Polyester Dyeing Leveling Auxiliary Liquid

Polyester is a tightly packed, hydrophobic fibre, and disperse dye will not penetrate it evenly without either high temperature or a carrier. Benzyl benzoate works as a carrier because it swells the fibre surface, speeds dye diffusion and then allows the dye to distribute evenly before the bath cools, which is exactly what is needed when a mill dyes at 100 degrees C in atmospheric equipment or when shade uniformity matters on package and beam dyeing.

Compared with chlorinated carriers such as trichlorobenzene, benzyl benzoate leaves no residual chlorine, needs no special effluent treatment, and does not give the workshop the solvent smell that operators complain about. Our textile grade is specified for low water content and neutral pH so it disperses cleanly into the dyebath without scum, and it is supplied with a cloud point and a dispersion stability test on every lot.

Used as a dyeing carrier for polyester and polyester blends in atmospheric winch, jigger, package and beam dyeing machines, as a levelling aid in repair shading, and as a swelling agent in the dyeing of tight polyester filament fabrics where barré is a risk.

A typical recipe adds 2 to 4 g/L for light shades and 4 to 6 g/L for heavy shades, dispersed in water at 40 degrees C with an emulsifier before the dye is charged. The bath is raised to 98 to 100 degrees C at 1 degree C per minute, held for 30 to 45 minutes, then cooled slowly to 70 degrees C before rinsing to avoid thermal shock and creasing.

Packed in 25 kg plastic drum, 225 kg iron drum with phenolic epoxy lining, or 1000 kg IBC tank for dyehouse dosing systems. Labels carry lot number, net weight, CAS number and production date in English, with Chinese or buyer specific labelling available.

Store below 30 degrees C in a ventilated chemical store, away from oxidising agents. Orders ship from Shanghai within 7 to 15 working days; drums are palletised, strapped and shrink wrapped for safe handling.

The Certificate of Analysis reports assay, water content, acidity, pH of a 10 percent emulsion and cloud point, along with a dispersion stability observation at 40 degrees C for 24 hours. A retention sample is kept for 24 months so a mill can verify a shade problem against the original carrier batch.
