Electronic Grade Benzyl Benzoate CAS 120-51-4 Low Moisture Solvent Colorless Liquid

Where a solvent touches a printed circuit board, a coated wafer or a precision optical part, water content and ionic contamination decide whether the process yields or scraps the batch. Benzyl benzoate (CAS 120-51-4) is used in these environments as a high boiling, polar aromatic solvent for resist stripping, precision cleaning and carrier formulations because it dissolves residues that alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons leave behind, and because it does not flash off before the part is clean.

This electronic grade is dried to below 0.02 percent water, filtered to 0.2 micron at the filling line, and tested for ionic chloride, sulphate and sodium so that no conductive residue is introduced to a sensitive assembly. Packing is done in an ISO 9001 controlled area with nitrogen blanketing, and each container carries the lot number, filtration date and ionic test results.

Applications include resist stripping and post etch residue removal in electronics assembly, precision cleaning of connectors and optical components, carrier solvent in specialty coatings for displays, and solvent for photoresist and polyimide formulations where a high boiling aromatic ester is required.

For cleaning processes the solvent is normally used at 40 to 60 degrees C with ultrasonic or spray agitation, followed by a rinse in a compatible alcohol and a nitrogen dry. Because it is a high boiling ester, residue removal requires a warm rinse stage, and our process note describes a validated two stage rinse sequence with measured residue levels.

Packed in 25 kg HDPE drum with inner liner, 225 kg iron drum with phenolic epoxy lining, or 1000 kg IBC, all nitrogen blanketed and sealed with tamper evident caps. Labels record lot number, net weight, CAS number, water content and filtration date.

Store below 30 degrees C under nitrogen where long term storage is expected, away from ignition sources and oxidisers. Delivery takes 7 to 15 working days from Shanghai, and clean room packing in a Class 10000 environment can be arranged for semiconductor customers.

Every lot is released against the specification with a Certificate of Analysis reporting assay, water, ionic chloride, ionic sulphate, sodium, residue on evaporation and particle count after filtration. A 500 g retention sample is stored for 24 months.

We provide a GHS safety data sheet, a cleaning validation support package with residue data, and a declaration of SVHC content. On request, ion chromatography reports for anion and cation content can be supplied per lot.
