Pet Nutrition ARA Oil CAS 506-32-1 Arachidonic Acid Animal Feed Grade Liquid

Cats, and to a lesser extent dogs, have limited delta-6 desaturase activity and depend on a dietary supply of preformed arachidonic acid (CAS 506-32-1) for normal skin, coat and reproductive function. Feline diets in particular are formulated with ARA as an essential nutrient, and puppy and kitten growth studies support its inclusion in early life nutrition.

This feed grade is produced from the same fermentation source as our food grade oil but specified for the economics and the analytical parameters that matter in feed mills: ARA content, peroxide value, acid value and microbiological quality, with no requirement for the pharmaceutical level documentation that adds cost. It is supplied in bulk drums ready for dosing into the fat blend or the coating line.

Used in kitten and puppy formulas, feline maintenance diets, senior pet nutrition and veterinary recovery diets, typically at 0.1 to 0.5 percent of the finished diet to reach an ARA level of 0.02 to 0.08 percent of the food. It is normally blended into the fat or oil component before coating or extrusion.

For dry kibble the oil is added to the coating fat at 60 to 70 degrees C immediately before vacuum coating, with an antioxidant blend to protect the surface fat. For wet diets it is added to the emulsion before retorting, and our note summarises palatability trial results in cats at three inclusion levels.

Supplied in 5 kg plastic drums for trial batches, 20 kg iron drums for small plants and 200 kg drums for feed mill dosing systems, all nitrogen blanketed. Labels carry lot number, ARA content, peroxide value and production date.

Store below 25 degrees C in a sealed container away from light and heat; drums should be used within eight weeks of opening. Shipments leave within 7 to 15 working days with COA, feed safety declaration and GMO statement.

Each lot is released with a Certificate of Analysis reporting ARA content, peroxide value, acid value, moisture, insoluble impurities, heavy metals and microbiological counts including Salmonella. A retention sample is kept for 18 months.

We supply a feed safety declaration consistent with EU feed hygiene requirements, a non GMO statement and an allergen declaration. Third party analysis for dioxins and PCBs can be arranged for markets that require it.
