Where a bath already carries a high chloride or ammonium chloride load, adding a sodium based surfactant accelerates the imbalance that shortens bath life. The potassium salt avoids that: potassium is already present in most chloride zinc electrolytes as potassium chloride, so the surfactant contributes an ion the bath expects rather than one it has to tolerate.

This 40 percent solution is the practical concentration for direct dosing into a working bath. It is thin, pours and pumps easily at 10 degrees C, disperses without pre dilution, and gives the same low foam and fine grain behaviour as the more concentrated grades at a slightly higher addition rate. For plating shops that buy surfactant by the drum and dose by volume, it is the simplest route to consistent wetting.

Used in potassium chloride zinc plating, in ammonium free chloride zinc baths, in zinc nickel alloy electrolytes and as a low foam wetting agent in acidic cleaners and pickling additives.

Dosage is typically 2 to 5 g per litre in the working bath, or 20 to 40 mL per litre of a formulated concentrate. Because the solution is thin, it can be metered directly with a diaphragm pump on a continuous addition system; our technical note describes a suitable metering setup and the control range.

Packed in 25 kg jerry cans, 200 kg plastic drums and 1000 kg IBC tanks, sealed and labelled with lot number, active content and production date. The low viscosity makes the product suitable for automated dosing systems.

Store between 5 and 35 degrees C and protect from frost; the product is stable through normal warehouse temperature cycling but should not be stored above 40 degrees C for long periods. Shipments leave within 7 to 15 working days.

Each lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis reporting active content, pH, cloud point, unsulfated matter, free nonylphenol, potassium chloride, density and viscosity, together with an electrolyte tolerance result in 200 g/L chloride brine. A retention sample is kept for 18 months.

We provide a GHS safety data sheet, a metering and dosing note, and a statement of nonylphenol ethoxylate restriction status for the intended application. Third party testing for chloride content can be arranged on request.
