Hard Water Tolerant NAPE Sulfate CAS 120478-49-1 High Chloride Bath Surfactant

In plants that draw process water from a borehole, or that run concentrated chloride electrolytes, an ordinary anionic surfactant fails in a predictable way: it forms a calcium or magnesium soap, the bath turns hazy, a scum floats on the surface and the wetting effect disappears exactly when the operator increases the dose to compensate. The result is wasted chemical, stained work and a bath that has to be dumped early.

This grade is built with a longer ethoxylate chain and a controlled unsulfated content to keep the calcium salt soluble, and it is tested in 500 mg/L hardness water and in 250 g/L chloride brine before release. It holds surface activity where standard grades cloud out, so the plant can dose one product at one rate regardless of what the water analysis says that week.

Used in plating baths and cleaners prepared with hard borehole water, in high chloride zinc and zinc alloy electrolytes, in pickling bath additives, and in any process where the water analysis varies and the surfactant must still perform.

Dosage is normally 1 to 3 g per litre; because the product does not precipitate, the dose does not need to be raised when hardness increases. Our technical note gives turbidity and surface tension data across 100 to 500 mg/L hardness and 0 to 250 g/L chloride, so a plant can set its control range with confidence.

Packed in 200 kg plastic drums and 1000 kg IBC tanks, sealed and labelled with lot number, active content and production date. Suitable for direct dosing with standard chemical metering pumps.

Store between 5 and 35 degrees C, protected from frost and direct sunlight. Shipments leave within 7 to 15 working days with COA, TDS, water tolerance data and a GHS safety data sheet.

Every lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis reporting active content, pH, cloud point, hard water stability at 500 mg/L, chloride tolerance at 250 g/L, unsulfated matter, free nonylphenol, density and viscosity. A 250 g retention sample is kept for 24 months.

We provide a GHS safety data sheet, a water tolerance data sheet and a statement of nonylphenol ethoxylate restriction status for the end use. Where restrictions apply, an alcohol ethoxylate sulfate with comparable hard water tolerance can be quoted.
