Solution Grade Valerophenone 50% CAS 1009-14-9 in Ethanol Industrial Liquid

Valerophenone (CAS 1009-14-9) is a liquid at room temperature but becomes viscous in a cold plant, and weighing neat ketone into a small batch introduces both a handling step and an exposure risk that many sites would rather avoid. A 50 percent solution in ethanol removes both problems: it pours and meters like a solvent, disperses instantly into an acrylate or solvent borne system, and can be dosed volumetrically from a closed container.

The solution is prepared from distilled valerophenone and a pharmaceutical grade ethanol carrier, blended in a closed vessel and filled under nitrogen. Assay of the ketone, water content and colour are verified on every batch, and the ethanol is declared on the certificate so the formulator can account for it in the volatile organic content of the finished product.

Used where valerophenone must be dosed into UV inks, coatings or chemical reactions without handling the neat liquid, and in laboratories and pilot plants that prefer a volumetric feed. Typical use follows the same dosage as the neat material, calculated on the ketone content of the solution.

Because the carrier is ethanol, the solution is a flammable liquid and must be handled accordingly: bonded and earthed containers, no ignition sources, and storage in a flammable goods cabinet. Our handling note covers earthing, pump selection and the maximum batch size per container.

Packed in 5 kg and 25 kg plastic drums and 200 kg drums, all sealed with tamper evident caps and labelled as a flammable liquid with the ketone content and lot number.

Store between 5 and 25 degrees C in a flammable goods store away from oxidisers and ignition sources. Shipments leave within 7 to 15 working days with COA, safety data sheet and, where required, a dangerous goods declaration for transport.

Each batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis reporting ketone content, carrier identity, water, acid value, colour and density, with the GC chromatogram of the ketone. A 250 g retention sample is kept for 12 months.

We provide a GHS safety data sheet classified for the flammable solution, a handling and earthing note, and a declaration of SVHC content. Alternative carriers such as propylene glycol or ethyl acetate can be quoted where ethanol is not permitted on site.
