Inhibited 5-Bromo-1-Pentene CAS 1119-51-3 Stabilised for Long Sea Freight

Six weeks in a container across the equator is a different test from three weeks in a warehouse. Bromoalkenes darken in that kind of heat through slow HBr elimination, and customers who buy bulk drums often open them to find a pale amber liquid instead of the water-white one they qualified. We fill this grade with a small amount of inhibitor, nitrogen pad the drum, and pack in lined steel rather than plastic because the liner is a better oxygen barrier.

The assay is the same 98% as our standard grade. What changes is the storage behaviour: colour drift is much slower, so a drum that arrives in July is still usable in September. If your process is sensitive to the inhibitor, tell us and we will quote without it, but for most synthesis work 150 ppm of BHT is harmless.

Keep the drum closed between uses and re-blanket with nitrogen if the plant has it available. If you need the inhibitor out, a short alumina plug or a mild aqueous wash before drying removes most of it without touching the alkene.

200 kg lined steel drum and 1000 kg IBC, both nitrogen padded and sealed with tamper evident closures. Labels show batch, assay, inhibitor level, colour at dispatch and production date.

Store below 30 degrees C in a ventilated flammable goods store. Full container loads ship from Shanghai in 15 to 20 days; LCL is available for trial quantities of one or two drums.

COA with assay, inhibitor level, dibromoalkane, water, colour at fill and colour at dispatch, plus the GC trace. A 250 g retention sample per batch is kept for 12 months.
