Hexafluoroisopropanol 99.9% High Purity HFIP Solvent CAS 920-66-1 Clear Liquid

The difference between 99% and 99.9% HFIP is mostly water and free fluoride, and both matter more than the headline number suggests. Water turns HFIP acidic enough to etch an aluminium part overnight, and free fluoride does the same thing faster. Fractionation under dry nitrogen is how we get both down.

This grade is for customers whose process notices the difference: a coupling that slows when the solvent is wet, a coating that clouds, a part that shows staining after the wash. Assay is 99.9% by GC, water is 300 ppm or below, and every lot ships with the chromatogram so you can see what you are buying.

Solvent for reactions where water shifts the outcome, coating and casting of fluoropolymers, and cleaning steps in optics and electronics where a residue or an etch mark would scrap the part.

Keep the container closed and blanketed where possible. Because the boiling point is only 59 degrees C, a loosely capped bottle in a warm room will lose material and pick up moisture at the same time, which is the usual reason a good lot performs badly three months later.

1 kg fluorinated bottle, 5 kg fluorinated can, 25 kg drum. Small packs are nitrogen blanketed at filling and use a fluorinated liner, since ordinary plastic closures swell and leak.

Store below 30 degrees C, sealed, away from bases and strong oxidisers. Air freight for small volumes with the appropriate documentation; sea freight for drums.

COA with assay, water, free fluoride, non volatile residue, colour, density and refractive index, plus the labelled chromatogram. A 100 g retention sample is kept for 24 months.
