Fuel Additive Grade MMT 99% CAS 12108-13-3 Gasoline Octane Booster Liquid

MMT is the manganese based octane booster that refiners and blenders use when they need octane without adding aromatics or lead. It works at very low treat rates, typically 8 to 18 mg of manganese per litre of gasoline, so a drum goes a long way and the effect on distillation and vapour pressure is negligible.

It arrives as an orange to dark orange liquid with a distinct odour, soluble in hydrocarbons and insoluble in water. The material is sensitive to light and air, so we fill under nitrogen into lined steel or amber glass and ship with the drum sealed; a drum that has been opened and left half full will darken and lose assay over a few months.

Regulation differs by market. Some countries cap manganese in gasoline, others require labelling, and a few have banned MMT outright. We supply the material and the documentation, but the blending limit is the buyer's call in their own jurisdiction.

Octane enhancement in unleaded gasoline, both at the refinery and in terminal blending, and as a component in performance fuel packages where the blender wants octane without additional aromatics.

Typical treat rate sits between 8 and 18 mg Mn per litre, depending on the base gasoline and the octane target. Add it into the blend stream with good mixing rather than dosing into a finished tank, and keep the storage tank away from direct sunlight.

1 kg amber glass for laboratory work, 25 kg lined steel pail and 200 kg steel drum for blending plants, all nitrogen padded and sealed with tamper evident closures.

Store below 30 degrees C in a cool, dark, ventilated area away from oxidisers. Ship as a combustible liquid with the correct UN declaration; IMDG documentation is prepared for sea freight.

COA with assay, manganese content, insolubles, water, density and appearance, plus the GC trace. A 200 g retention sample per batch is kept for 24 months.
