Catalyst Precursor MMT CAS 12108-13-3 Low Halide Manganese Source Grade

When MMT is used to put manganese into a catalyst or a thin film, halide is the impurity that shows up later as corrosion or as a poisoning effect on the active site. Our catalyst precursor grade is made with a halide control step and tested by ion chromatography, so the chloride and bromide figures are measured rather than assumed.

The material is also filtered before filling, which matters for chemical vapour deposition and for spin coating, where a particle becomes a defect. Assay is 99% with manganese at the standard 25%, and the packaging is nitrogen padded so the material does not oxidise between the plant and the customer's glovebox.

Preparation of manganese containing catalysts, deposition of manganese oxide films by CVD or spray pyrolysis, and as a liquid precursor where a volatile organometallic is easier to meter than a solid salt.

Meter by liquid flow controller rather than by bubbling, since the vapour pressure is low at room temperature. Keep the precursor at a stable temperature in the delivery vessel; a few degrees of drift changes the dose and shows up as a thickness variation across the wafer or the coated part.

5 kg lined can, 25 kg lined steel pail and 200 kg drum on request, all nitrogen padded and filtered at filling. Labels record the halide result and the filtration step.

Store below 25 degrees C, sealed under nitrogen, in the dark. Air freight for cans, sea freight for pails and drums.

COA with assay, manganese, total halide by ion chromatography, iron, water, particles and density, plus the GC trace. A 100 g retention sample per lot is kept for 18 months.

Ion chromatography report and a particle count report are available for deposition customers. We can quote a tighter halide limit if the process is sensitive below 10 ppm.
