Inleiding:
Natriumfluoresceïne is geurloos en hygroscopisch. Het is oplosbaar in water, en de oplossing is geel-rood met een zeer sterke geel-groene fluorescentie, die verdwijnt na verzuring en weer verschijnt na neutralisatie of alkalisering.
