Inleiding:
2-Methyl-2,4-pentaandiol (MPD) is een diol organische verbinding met een chiraal koolstofatoom. Het is een kleurloze vloeistof bij kamertemperatuur en kan worden verkregen door hydrogenering van diacetonalcohol. Het is een kleurloze vloeistof met een milde zoete smaak. Het is mengbaar met water, ethanol en de meeste organische oplosmiddelen.
Toepassingen:
2-Methyl-2,4-pentaandiol (MPD) is een veelgebruikt fijnchemisch product dat kan worden gebruikt in pesticiden, biochemische engineering, lichtgevoelige materialen, synthetische geurstoffen en andere gebieden. 2-Methyl-2,4-pentaandiol is een hoogwaardig organisch oplosmiddel met een extreem sterke oplosbaarheid. Het kan worden gebruikt als additief voor roestverwijdering en olieverwijdering bij de productie van oppervlaktebehandelingsmiddelen voor metalen, textielhulpmiddelen, coatings en latexverven, en cosmetica. Naast het gebruik als pesticidenstabilisator, kan het ook worden gebruikt in dagelijkse chemische moisturizers, smaak- en geurgrondstoffen, hydraulische oliën, smeermiddelen voor hoge temperaturen, remoliën, chemische reinigingsmiddelen, drukinkten, pigmentdispersiemiddelen, houtconserveermiddelen, enz.
