用途:
4,4'-ジヒドロキシジフェニルスルホンは、主に色固定剤として使用されます。その他、めっき液添加剤、皮革タンニング剤、分散染料高温染色分散剤、フェノール樹脂硬化促進剤、樹脂難燃剤などとして使用できます。また、農薬、染料、添加剤の中間体でもあります。ビスフェノールAの代替品として、ポリカーボネート、エポキシ樹脂、ポリエステル、フェノール樹脂の原料、ポリサルホンおよびポリエーテルサルホンの原料として使用できます。本製品は、カラー写真材料、写真コントラスト増強剤、感熱記録材料（現像剤）、日用界面活性剤、高効率消臭剤などの製造にも使用されます。ビスフェノールSは、色固定剤A（外国貿易名はCibatexPA）を調製するための原料として使用できます。
