پودر بلوری که از سفید تا زرد تیره می باشد، بی بو است. شیرین آن تقریباً 1500 تا 1800 برابر شکروز است.شروع شیرین شدن کمی در مقایسه با ساکارین سدیم به تاخیر می افتد اما به طور قابل توجهی سریعتر از گلیسیرریزین (5:7مدت شیرین بودن این سه ترکیب 42 ثانیه است:57۱۳۳ ثانیه، همچنین بین دو مورد دیگر قرار می گیرد، بنابراین به ساکارین سدیم نزدیک تر است. آن دارای یک شیرینی لذت بخش بدون طعم پس از آن است. نقطه ذوب: ۱۵۶/۱۵۸ درجه سانتیگراد.
