HFIP is a small fluorinated alcohol that behaves like nothing else in the solvent cabinet. It dissolves polar polymers, it wets fluoropolymers that nothing else wets, and it evaporates cleanly at 59 degrees C, so a part comes out dry instead of needing a second wash. The catch is that it is not cheap, which is why it is used where the performance justifies the price. This is our technical grade for cleaning, stripping and general industrial use.
