Uses:

Dithiothreitol (DTT) is a small molecule organic reducing agent with a chemical formula of C4H10O2S2. It is mainly used in the field of biotechnology as a protein cleavage reagent. The most widely used synthesis method of dithiothreitol is to use threitol as a raw material, first oxidize it with potassium permanganate, then obtain a thio intermediate under the action of thioacetic acid, and finally hydrolyze the thio intermediate to obtain dithiothreitol.
