Introduction:
Colorless to light yellow liquid with blue fluorescence and orange blossom aroma. Freezing point 24℃, boiling point 273℃, 132℃ (1.87kPa). Soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ethe, slightly soluble in water and glycerol. Oral LD50 of rats 2910mg/kg, Adl0～1.5mg/kg (FAO/WHO1994).
Uses:
This product can be used as an intermediate for pesticides and saccharin. Methyl anthranilate has the sweet aroma of pagoda flowers and a grape-like aroma when diluted. It is used to blend cheap artificial flower oils, and is also used as soap flavor or grape flavor. my country's GB2760-86 stipulates that it is an edible flavor allowed for use. It is mainly used to prepare flavors such as grape, citrus, loganberry, strawberry and watermelon. Anthranilate esters can react with aldehydes to generate valuable soap-based flavors. For example, hydroxy aromatic aldehyde reacts with methyl anthranilate to obtain the following flavors. This flavor is already commercially available in China, and the trade name is Aurantiol.
