Introduction:
Xanthine (English: xanthine), also known as 3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione and 2,6-dihydroxypurine in Chinese, is a purine base widely distributed in the organs and body fluids of the human body and other organisms. It is often used as a mild stimulant and bronchodilator, especially for the treatment of asthma symptoms. Common mild stimulants such as caffene, theophylline and theobromine (mainly found in chocolate) are derived from xanthine. Xanthine is also a product of purine metabolism and is converted into uric acid under the action of xanthine oxidase.
Uses:
