Introduction:
Potassium formate is a colorless transparent liquid or white solid. It is highly hygroscopic, has reducing properties, can react with strong oxidants, has a density of 1.9100g/cm3, is easily soluble in water, and has a saturated solution specific gravity of 1.58g/cm3. It is non-toxic and non-corrosive. Potassium formate can be synthesized by heating carbon monoxide with potassium hydroxide, and further acidification and distillation can produce formic acid.
Uses:
Potassium formate is mainly used in oil drilling, oilfield drilling fluid, completion fluid, carbon black surface modifier, snow melt, mining, etc.
