1.0M Ethylmagnesium Bromide CAS 925-90-6 Laboratory Grignard Reagent in THF

One molar is the concentration most laboratories want. It is easier to measure by syringe, it gives a finer control over addition rate in a small flask, and it hurts less when a reaction does not work and the bottle goes to waste. For a 100 mL reaction, 3 M means a 5 mL aliquot with poor resolution; 1 M means 15 mL with a readable number on the syringe.

We make it from the same ethyl bromide and magnesium as the concentrated grade, then dilute and titrate. The solution is filtered to remove magnesium salt haze, so it transfers through a cannula without blocking, and every bottle is filled under nitrogen with a septum cap.

Customers doing method development tend to keep both concentrations: 1 M for scouting, 3 M for scale up.

Take the aliquot by syringe through the septum and keep the bottle under nitrogen. For a 1 M solution the volume per mole is large, so add over 15 to 30 minutes in a small flask to keep the exotherm under control.

500 mL, 1 L and 4 L septum bottles under nitrogen. Bottles are shipped in vermiculite or foam packed cartons so a cracked bottle does not become an incident in transit.

Store between 5 and 25 degrees C, sealed under nitrogen, away from water and ignition sources. UN 3399 packaging, air freight allowed for bottles with the correct declaration.
