Inleiding:
Broomthymolblauw is een zuur-base-indicator met een kleurveranderingsbereik van pH 6,0 (geel) tot 7,6 (blauw). Gewoon water is neutraal, met een pH van ongeveer 7, wat bijna lichtgroen is. Broomthymolblauw is een kleurloos of lichtroze kristallijn poeder, dat gemakkelijk oplosbaar is in alcohol, verdunde alkalische oplossing en ammoniakwater, en enigszins oplosbaar in water. Het wordt geel in zure omstandigheden en blauw in alkalische omstandigheden.
Gebruik:
• pH-indicator - heeft een precieze kleurverandering in de buurt van neutraal, geel bij zuur, blauw bij alkalisch.
• Kleurstoffen - volg de beweging van lymfe onder de microscoop, identificeer celwanden of kernen
