ブロモチモールブルーは、pH 6.0（黄色）から7.6（青色）の範囲で変色する酸塩基指示薬です。通常の水は中性で、pHは約7であり、ほぼ薄緑色です。ブロモチモールブルーは無色または薄いバラ色の結晶性粉末で、アルコール、希アルカリ溶液、アンモニア水によく溶け、水にはわずかに溶けます。酸性条件下では黄色に、アルカリ性条件下では青色に変わります。
用途:
• pH指示薬 - 中性付近で正確な色の変化を示し、酸性では黄色、アルカリ性では青色になります。
