Introduction:

White phosphorus flakes with pearly luster. Insoluble in water,  soluble in ethanol. Palmitic acid, also known as hexadecanoic acid, is one of the most widely distributed fatty acids in nature. It is white crystals at room temperature. It is widely present in various oils and fats, such as tung oil, palm oil, lacquer, cottonseed oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, corn germ oil, fish oil, milk fat, cattle, sheep, pig fat, etc. At the same time, it also forms esters (i.e. natural waxes) with higher saturated monohydric alcohols and is widely present in many kinds of animals and plants.

Uses:

It is mainly used as a surfactant. When used as a non-ionic type, it can be used for polyoxyethylene sorbitan monopalmitate and sorbitan monopalmitate. The former is made into a lipophilic emulsifier and used in all cosmetics and medicines, and the latter can be used as an emulsifier for cosmetics, medicines, and foods, a dispersant for pigment inks, and is also used as a defoamer. When used as an anionic type, it is made into sodium palmitate and used as a raw material for fatty acid soaps, plastic emulsifiers, etc. Zinc palmitate is used as a stabilizer for cosmetics and plastics. In addition to being used as a surfactant, it is also used as a raw material for isopropyl palmitate, methyl palmitate, butyl palmitate, amine compounds, chlorides, etc. Among them, isopropyl palmitate is a raw material for cosmetic oil phase and can be used to make lipsticks, various creams, hair oils, hair creams, etc. Others, such as methyl palmitate, can be used as lubricant additives, surfactant raw materials; PVC slip agents, etc.; raw materials for candles, soaps, greases, synthetic detergents, softeners, etc.; used as a fragrance, it is an edible fragrance allowed for use in accordance with my country's GB2760-1996 regulations; it is also used as a food defoamer.
