Inleiding:
Bisphenol AF staat ook bekend als hexafluorobisphenol A, 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropaan, 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropaan, etc., afgekort als BPAF. Het is licht oplosbaar in tetrachloorkoolstof, moeilijk oplosbaar in water en gemakkelijk oplosbaar in organische oplosmiddelen zoals ethanol, aceton, ether, tolueen en sterke alkalische oplossingen. Bisphenol AF kan ontleden en verbranden bij verhitting tot 510°C.
Toepassingen:
Bisphenol AF wordt voornamelijk gebruikt als vulkanisatiemiddel (verknopingsmiddel) voor fluorrubber, en meer dan 70% van het fluorrubber maakt gebruik van het bisphenol AF vulkanisatiesysteem. Bisphenol AF kan worden gebruikt als monomeer om gefluoreerde polyamiden (imiden), gefluoreerde polyesters, gefluoreerde polyarylethers, gefluoreerde polyetherketonen, gefluoreerde polycarbonaten, gefluoreerde epoxyharsen, gefluoreerde polyurethanen en andere gefluoreerde polymeren te synthetiseren, die worden gebruikt als gasscheidingsmembranen, protonenuitwisselingsmembranen, diëlektrische coatings, optische vezelscheden, foto-elektrische buissubstraten, lijmen, etc., en worden veel gebruikt in micro-elektronica, brandstofcellen, optica, ruimtetechnologie en andere gebieden.
