Introduction :
Les tensioactifs cationiques de type sel d'alkyltriméthylammonium sont préparés en faisant réagir des amines grasses supérieures avec du chlorure de méthyle en présence d'hydroxyde de sodium. Ce type de tensioactif a une structure d'un groupe alkyle ou hydrocarbure à longue chaîne (généralement 8 à 22 atomes de carbone) et de trois groupes alkyles à chaîne courte (1 à 7 atomes de carbone), tels que 1231 (chlorure de dodécyltriméthylammonium), 1431 (chlorure de tétradécyltriméthylammonium), 1631 (chlorure d'hexadécyltriméthylammonium) et 1831 (chlorure d'octadécyltriméthylammonium). Ce tensioactif est facilement soluble dans l'eau, transparent et possède une bonne activité de surface.
Utilisations :
Il peut être utilisé comme agent antistatique pour le revêtement externe de shampooings, de détergents bactéricides, de résine de polystyrène, etc., comme agent antistatique pour les fibres, comme agent de nivellement, comme démulsifiant et comme dispersant, etc.
