チオシアン酸アンモニウムは、チオシアン酸アンモニウムまたはチオシアン酸シアン化アンモニウムとしても知られ、化学式 NH4SCN および分子量 76.12 の無色で光沢のある単斜晶系の板状または柱状結晶です。 92℃で斜方晶系の結晶を形成します。融点は147℃（170℃で分解）、相対密度は1.3057、屈折率は1.685です。水に容易に溶け、吸熱溶解反応を示します。エタノール、アルカリ金属水酸化物、アセトン、ピリジン、液体二酸化硫黄に可溶ですが、クロロホルム (トリクロロメタン) にはほとんど溶けません。溶液は日光に当たると赤くなります。鉄塩と反応して血のように赤いチオシアン酸第二鉄を形成します。これは標準溶液と比色比較することで定量できます。約140℃に加熱するとチオ尿素が生成します。 176℃でアンモニア、二硫化炭素、硫化水素に分解します。空気中では吸湿性があるため、密閉容器に入れて酸から離して保管する必要があります。
用途:
チオシアン酸アンモニウムは、過酸化水素の製造における副原料です。染料や有機合成における重合触媒として使用されます。農薬と抗生物質の分離や分析試薬として使用されます。また、シアン化物、フェロシアン化物、チオ尿素の製造の原料でもあります。さらに、亜鉛コーティング、染色および印刷の分散剤、電気めっき添加剤としても使用されます。
