옥타데칸아민은 유기 합성을 위한 중간체로 사용되며, 양이온성 그리스용 증점제, 광물 선별제, 살충제 및 아스팔트 유화제, 직물 대전 방지제, 연화제, 습윤 및 방수제, 계면활성제, 살균제, 컬러 필름용 착색제, 정유 장치용 부식 억제 화학물질 등 다양한 첨가제를 생산하는 데 사용됩니다. 옥타데실디에탄올아민과 에틸렌 옥사이드를 1:2 몰비로 결합하여 150-190°C에서 반응시키면 옥타데실디에탄올아민을 거의 80% 수율로 얻을 수 있습니다. 옥타데실디에탄올아민은 비이온성 대전 방지제이며 폴리프로필렌, 폴리스티렌 및 ABS 수지에 사용할 수 있습니다.
