나트륨 폴리아크릴레이트는 흰색의 분말이다. 냄새가 없고 맛도 없다. 극도로 수소 관측력이 있다. 수소 친화적 및 수소 혐오적 그룹을 모두 가진 폴리머 화합물이다.그것은 매우 끈적끈적한 분자를 형성하기 위해 물에 천천히 녹습니다., 투명한 액체. 0.5% 용액의 점도는 대략 Pa•s입니다. 점도는 물 흡수 및 부풀어 오르는 것 (CMC 또는 나트륨 알기나트처럼) 에 의해 발생하지 않습니다.오히려 분자 안의 많은 아니온 그룹의 이온 현상으로 인해, 분자 사슬이 길어지는 것을 유발하여 점성이 증가하고 고 점성이 높은 용액이 형성됩니다.그 점도는 CMC와 나트륨 알기나트보다 약 15-20배나 높습니다.열처리, 중립 염분, 유기산은 점도에 거의 영향을 미치지 않지만 알칼리성은 점성을 증가시킵니다. 에탄올과 같은 유기 용매에 녹지 않습니다.300°C 까지 가열 하면 분해 되지 않습니다. 장기간 보관 할 때 점성이 거의 변하지 않으며 쉽게 손상되지 않습니다. 전해질이기 때문에 산과 금속 이온에 쉽게 영향을 받아 점성을 감소시킵니다.
